Summer 2020. Returning to Japan from Singapore in the thick of the pandemic, I was at my lowest mental ebb when I sought help at a certain clinic.

There, I was diagnosed with Bipolar-II Disorder as the primary condition, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD/Asperger’s) and Dissociative Identity Disorder as secondary conditions. Doctor declared, “We will address the DID last. You will need to undergo psychotherapy for some time.”

Nearly six months later, as my symptoms stabilized and my understanding grew, my psychotherapeutic counseling finally began.
